PelGar produces a range of high quality concentrates for local manufacture based on the active ingredients Brodifacoum, Bromadiolone and Difenacoum. Each active has its own unique toxicity profile as per the table below. The figures for dogs are shown only as an indication of the relative toxicity to non-target animals – baits should always be protected and in any case of suspected poisoning consult a doctor or veterinarian.
Anticoagulant | LD50 mg ai/kg Mouse/Rat | Bait Concentration (PPM) | LD50 (g of bait) Mouse/Rat* | LD50 (g of bait/kg) Dog |
Difenacoum | 0.8 / 1.80 | 50 | 0.4 / 9.0 | 1000 |
Bromadiolone | 1.75 / 1.13 | 50 | 0.9 / 5.6 | 200 |
Brodifacoum | 0.40 /0.27 | 50 | 0.2 / 1.4 | 5.0 |
* Typical 25g mouse and 250g rat.
PelGar supplies a range of concentrates containing 0.25%, 0.50% or 2.5% w/w of active material in a glycol base.
All PelGar concentrates include a dyestuff. Standard dye colours are red and blue, but different colour dyes or colourless concentrates are available on request.
The bittering agent denatonium benzoate is routinely included in the concentrates to provide a concentration of 10ppm in the standard ready-for-use bait which contains 50ppm of the active substance. Concentrates containing different levels of denatonium benzoate are available on request.
