Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

PelGar International is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

PelGar International – Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

(Financial Year ending 31 December 2025)

1. Organisational Structure, Business and Supply Chains

PelGar International is a UK-headquartered manufacturer of pest control products, employing approximately 130 people. We operate from two sites in the UK and internationally, with distribution to Europe, Middle East and Africa, Latin America, the United States and Asia Pacific.

We manufacture our own products and use third-party suppliers and service providers, including contractors for processes. Our supply chain therefore includes both raw material suppliers and service providers, as well as temporary labour providers.

All suppliers are required to complete an Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) compliance form, and we are a member of SMETA, assessed against ETI criteria.

2. Organisational Policies

PelGar has in place:

  • A Modern Slavery Policy, setting out our zero-tolerance approach to forced labour, child labour, bonded labour and human trafficking.
  • A Human Rights Policy reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that our employees are able to work in an environment free of physical, psychological or verbal abuse, the threat of abuse and sexual or other harassment.
  • A Whistleblowing Policy, which provides employees with a confidential way to raise concerns, including concerns relating to modern slavery.
  • Supplier onboarding requirements that mandate compliance with the ETI Base Code.

These policies reflect our commitment to ethical trading and align with international standards.

3. Assessing and Managing Risk

We recognise that risks may arise in the areas of temporary labour and overseas supply chains. To manage these risks:

  • HR oversees audits of temporary worker agencies to ensure compliance with right-to-work checks and ethical recruitment practices.
  • We assess suppliers using compliance questionnaires and require written confirmation of adherence to ethical standards.
  • We prioritise suppliers in higher-risk categories (such as temporary labour) for closer monitoring.

4. Due Diligence

PelGar’s due diligence measures include:

  • Reviewing supplier declarations and ETI compliance forms.
  • Conducting audits of temporary worker agencies.
  • Conducting thorough right to work checks of all prospective employees.
  • Requiring suppliers to confirm their compliance as a condition of business.
  • Taking corrective action or terminating contracts if a supplier is found to be in breach.

Where concerns are raised, we investigate and take proportionate steps to remediate any issues identified.

5. Training

At present, PelGar does not operate a formal modern slavery training programme. However, we recognise the importance of awareness and plan to explore training for HR, Procurement and other key teams in future reporting periods.

6. Monitoring and Effectiveness

We are at the beginning of our formal reporting journey. Our focus during this financial year has been on strengthening supplier compliance forms and conducting agency audits. Going forward, we will:

  • Continue to monitor compliance through HR-led audits.
  • Review and update our approach as statutory guidance develops.
  • Consider measurable KPIs in future statements to track progress.

Approval

This statement has been approved by the leadership team of PelGar International and formally signed by the company’s sole legal director. While the wider executive team contributes to the development and oversight of our modern slavery policy, final approval and sign-off is carried out by the director in accordance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
