PelGar Taps Into Future Talent Through Summer Work Experience Programme

At PelGar, developing the next generation of talent is an investment in the future, not only for our business but for the wider industries and communities we serve.

Over the summer, we were delighted to welcome a number of higher education students to our UK operations, giving them the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience while bringing fresh ideas and perspectives into the business.

At our Alton headquarters, Charlotte Greensmith, pictured, who is studying Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, joined the laboratory team. Working alongside our technical specialists, Charlotte gained practical experience in a professional scientific environment, applying academic knowledge while developing new skills that can only be learned in the workplace.

Meanwhile, at our Telford manufacturing facility, Steve Ardi Andoh Nachia, who is studying Computer Science, and Trinity Antwi, a Neuroscience student at Aston University, joined the production team. Their placements provided first-hand insight into the workings of a modern manufacturing and operational environment, helping them understand how theoretical learning translates into real-world business practice.

Work experience placements offer significant benefits for students as they prepare for future careers. Beyond developing practical skills, they gain a better understanding of workplace expectations, build confidence, strengthen communication skills and improve their employability. Equally important, employers benefit from the enthusiasm, curiosity and fresh thinking that students bring to the organisation.

At PelGar, we believe it is important to support emerging talent and provide opportunities for students to explore potential career paths. Hosting placements not only helps individuals develop professionally but also encourages the exchange of new ideas, different perspectives and innovative thinking across the business.

As industries continue to evolve, creating meaningful links between education and employment has never been more important. We are pleased to play a small part in helping students gain valuable experience and look forward to seeing where their future careers take them.
We would like to thank Charlotte, Steve and Trinity for their contributions over the summer and wish them every success with their studies and future ambitions.
