Independent science‑led RRAC resources provide authoritative guidance to help professionals understand, prevent and manage anticoagulant rodenticide resistance.
The Rodenticide Resistance Action Committee (RRAC)
The Rodenticide Resistance Action Committee (RRAC) is an international expert group dedicated to improving understanding and management of anticoagulant rodenticide resistance in rats and mice. RRAC operates within the framework of CropLife International and brings together senior technical specialists from leading rodenticide manufacturers, including PelGar, to provide independent, science-led guidance for the pest control industry.
RRAC’s work is focused on helping professionals make informed decisions that maintain effective rodent control while reducing the risk of resistance development and supporting best practice in integrated pest management (IPM).
Why rodenticide resistance matters
Anticoagulant resistance is a recognised and growing challenge in rodent control across many parts of the world. Resistance can lead to poor control outcomes, increased bait usage and unnecessary environmental exposure if not correctly identified and managed.
RRAC exists to address this challenge by improving awareness of how and why resistance develops, providing guidance on recognising control failure, and promoting strategies to prevent, manage and monitor resistance in the field.
Practical guidance for pest professionals
RRAC provides a wide range of free, practical resources designed to support professionals at every stage of rodent control. These include detailed guidelines on anticoagulant rodenticide resistance management, interactive checklists for users experiencing control difficulties, resistance maps showing the known distribution of resistant rodent populations, and technical papers and position statements covering resistance mechanisms, testing and alternative control approaches.
These resources help users assess resistance risk, select appropriate control strategies and apply rodenticides responsibly as part of a wider integrated pest management approach.
PelGar’s involvement
As a participating company within RRAC, PelGar actively supports the committee’s objectives by contributing technical expertise and promoting the responsible use of rodenticides.
PelGar encourages pest management professionals, specifiers and end users to make full use of RRAC’s guidance and tools to improve control success, reduce unnecessary rodenticide use, and help protect non-target species and the wider environment.
